It is really easy to spend $400-2000 or more on a fountain pen. The question is, are these pens really worth the price?

Fountain Pen Sticker Shock!!!

This is a rant video on the upsurge in popularity of really expensive fountain pens like Viscontis and Auroras.  My blog is "The Frugal Fountain Pen" and it is getting harder to write about really affordable fountain pens.  What do you think?  Are fountain pen prices getting out of hand?  Do you buy expensive fountain pens?  Would you like to see more really affordable ones?  I would love to hear your thoughts.

The Fountain Pen Book

This is a video about The Fountain Pen book, a book that I wrote for fountain pen lovers and enthusiasts as a labor of love.

If you are interested in fountain pens, this book is a great place to start. It is short, easy to read and filled with valuable information that I have gathered since becoming a fountain pen enthusiast. I have included lots of links so that you can connect with other fountain pen users, dealers and resources. It is a great primer for those just entering the world of fountain pens.

You can buy it for Kindle here: http://amzn.to/2uzbNN5

Handmade Leather Pocket Notebook

by Tony Thomas

I decided to create a pocket notebook out of a piece of tooling leather that I had dyed previously.

It is great for holding loose pages of Rhodia pad paper, other scraps of paper and receipts.

This notebook was super easy to make.  Just cut the tooling leather (4 to 8 oz.) to size, dye it and fold it.

I secure it by using an elastic hair band that are available at most drugstores.   Great project and very handy!

Check out my YouTube video on this notebook:
